Did you know that a little leprechaun has a secret home in Disneyland, California? Read on and I’ll tell you exactly where it is, and how he came to live there – even today! Hint: his name is Patrick Begorra and his wee-little house is in a land Disney guests flock to when they’re looking for “Adventure.”
In 1955, a new Little Golden Book was released titled, “Little Man of Disneyland.”
The story of the Little Man of Disneyland
A little leprechaun was living at the bottom of an orange tree in Anaheim, California and he was “feeling very fine.”
His name was Patrick Begorra.
One day some Big People came by the orange grove, and told Patrick that they were going to build something new there and had to take away some trees, including the tree that Patrick lived in! The wee leprechaun was not happy.
He said to the big people, “I’ll thank you all to leave at once.”
But Mickey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy had an idea. They were going to take Patrick to the Disney Studios to show him all the fantastic new plans for building Disneyland.
When Patrick saw all the wonderful things that were about to be built like winding rivers, little shops, and even a railroad, he said, “the place is yours.” But Patrick had one small request. Could I build a “snug little house” and live in Disneyland quietly after Disneyland is built? Mickey said “fine.”
Then Mickey offered to find Patrick a new place to live, but the little leprechaun had already picked out a new spot himself. He waited until night when everyone had gone home and then moved all his household goods to a new secret location in Disneyland. And he still lives there today!
And this is where Patrick Begorra made his new-secret-mysterious home in Disneyland. But where is it?
Of course, you’re welcome to try to find the leprechaun’s new house by yourself, but be warned, it’s not easy. If you’d like to learn the exact location of Patrick Begorra’s new home, you’ll find the answer in the short, two minute video below…
